About me I am fascinated with people and organisational development and have an extensive experience in Education, Learning and Motivation. Many individuals are limited by external influences and I am passionate about working to change this using tools and techniques which enable individuals to become confident, active learners and thinkers.

Bringing a unique blend of personal and professional expertise in motivation and personal development to Positive PD coaching and courses I work equally happily with challenged children and business executives to promote active learning, self-discovery and feelgood thinking. Having spent over 20 years in teaching Physical Education and Guidance I decided to delve deeper into motivation and people management by completing a Diploma in HRM and a Diploma in Stress Management. After working with LEAPS (Widening Access) and University tutoring I decided to focus on my real passion for people development and have been delivering confidence coaching and motivational training in education, family and business sectors since. Having become fascinated with Mind Mapping I became a Qualified Buzan Instructor in 2002 and then became a Learnfast Consultant, an Accredited de Bono Education Consultant and completed a Dip (Dist) SpLD(Dyslexia).

I have a passion for bringing the power of visual thinking and learning/thinking confidence and creativity to the world. With a wealth of experience across the Education and Business Sectors, working with clients to discover their own unique talents and achieve goals, my expertise in learning/thinking diversity and difference is hands-on. I frequently mind map conferences and events 'live', ‘walking the talk’, which I believe is key to inspiring delegates to go forth and find and understand their unique individual styles of thinking and processing.

My key strength is an ability to work in a nurturing and reflective way with individuals and groups and build trust and confidence. Coupled with a broad theoretical base I have worked with learners and teams within and across organisations and have experiential knowledge of barriers and motivators which impact on the confidence and performance of individuals and teams.  I know most organisations and individuals equally could benefit hugely from more efficient, enjoyable and less stressful modes of thinking and communicating and increased recognition of diversity. In education I was particularly interested, and successful, in motivational coaching and change management to respond to all learners.

My Vision My vision is to change organisational and individual systems, perspectives and self-belief. I believe visible, quality thinking creates successful, confident and comfortable individuals and organisations. Throughout an extensive experience in Education and People Management, with a particular interest in Pressure Management and Motivation, my prime driver has been to inspire individuals to increase confidence and achieve goals in a face-to-face, qualitative and trusting coaching environment.

I have worked in Learning and Development from junior school to university and  management level, with students, adult learners and widening access programmes in a diverse range of personal/ vocational guidance, physical education, PSE, staff development, presentation skills, confidence coaching and organisational culture change.

Having set up a company specialising in confidence coaching and motivation I became a Buzan Licensed Instructor in 2002 as I recognised the significance of Mind Mapping® as a powerful tool for thinking and organising. My passion for Mind Mapping® continues to flourish. I am also an Accredited de Bono Education Consultant and a Learnfast Consultant. I work equally happily with kids, teens, adults, teachers, parents and business groups to promote active learning, self-discovery and feelgood thinking.

My Approach Quality, not quantity! I know from experience that qualitative, deeper, more meaningful learning happens in smaller groups. Many presenters love performing to larger audiences, much like a circus show. I strongly believe quality learning and development happens in small bundles which offers individuals and groups opportunity to address their unique needs and truly engage and exchange thinking and extend personal mental maps. I am fortunate to have some fantastic teaching experience with small, dynamic groups working on sensitive and/or philosophical issues in a meaningful, engaging way which truly values and respects each learner.

Consequently, I have strongly resisted the concept of large group presentations and focus on personalised, interactive and reflective learning which can seriously change thinking, values individuality and avoids conformity/groupthink.
